Veterans Commemorative
Park


                   Our Yorktown American Legion Post #1009 established a
    Veterans Commemorative Park adjacent to our Post where we fly
    our country's flag with pride each and every day.  Our original
    plan was to replace the old grey stone plaza with red bricks
    engraved with our Post's Legionnaires names with their military
    info on them.  Each Legionnaire could make a donation to have a
    beautiful brick engraved and installed in the plaza.  We thought it
    appropriate to open this Plaza so all people could honor and thank
    those Veterans that were special to them.  This wonderful idea
    quickly blossomed into our current program in which we honor
    all U.S. Veterans and their service to our country.

                   Almost all of the engraved bricks in our Veterans
    Commemorative Park honor Veterans with ties to our Yorktown
    Community.  We realize that some of these Veterans are unable to
    come and see the bricks with their names in our plaza and we are
    developing this page to help with this.  Shortly, we will have the
    names of those honored with bricks in the plaza listed here with a
    link that will hopefully enable them to view a photo of their brick
    on the screen from home.

                   Please bear with us as we enter the names, military info,
    and take photos of all the engraved bricks in the plaza.
