those years we have accumulated a lot of awards and momentos and only a few Post members have ever seen them. No, its not that you have to be one of the 'favored' to gain access to the trophy room. It's actually that you have to go into our musty, cob-webbed, basement during the dry season and wipe the dust and crud buildup off of the awards. The awards have been stored down there because we simply don't have the display room to show everything off in the Post Hall. We have chosen to keep the Hall and lobby of the Post clear of most of this stuff to make it more attractive to people who wish to come in and rent our Post Hall which financially supports the Post and its mission. While it is nice to have trophies and plaques all over the Hall - it is a lot easier to clean and maintain our Hall with clear walls. In an effort to safeguard the history of our Post we have scanned and photographed the awards and have them on 'display' here for anyone to appreciate. |
